Discipleship 102 Week 1: Defining A Disciple

DISCIPLESHIP 102 ORIENTATION

DISCIPLE MAKER PATHWAY

Our Disciple Maker Pathway is a resource created to equip followers of Jesus to grow spiritually while being empowered to make disciples that make disciple makers.

Whether it is grounding a young believer in core biblical truths or shoring up the foundations of veterans of the faith, this interactive resource leads Jesus followers through a dozen key discipleship themes over the course of a year.

We encourage everyone to use this valuable resource and join us on this journey of discipleship. Together, let’s empower each other to make disciples that make disciples!

Disciple Maker Pathway (DMP) is our practical, intentional process to develop disciples that make disciples.

Each course builds on the one before to lead believers to an understanding of how what they have learned can be passed on and invested in others.

THE FOLLOWING 4 COURSES WILL BE COVERED WITHIN DMP :

Discipleship 102 is an 8-12 week discipleship group designed to equip and inform each participant on the characteristics of a disciple.

WHY DO WE NEED DISCIPLE MAKER PATHWAY GROUPS?

INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP

We want to be intentional about holistic disciples at Greater Shiloh Church. The Bible’s vision of gospel-centered community shows disciples who grow spiritually and also make disciples who make more disciples. By living on mission in community, disciples are empowered by the Holy Spirit to transform our city and the nations through our generation and the next.

LOVING ACCOUNTABILITY IN BIBLE STUDY & COMMUNITY

Our rhythms help discipleship group members and leaders, intentionally develop gospel-centered relationships and hold one another accountable to Christ and his Word.

SHARED OWNERSHIP FOR HEALTH AND TRAINING

DMP Group members pursue evangelism, spiritual growth, make disciples, and serve our city in gospel community because Scripture exhorts every believer to contribute and own the health, discipleship, and mission of the church. It also challenges disciples that are not living out Jesus’ teaching to “go and make disciples” not to sit and wait for them to join a service, but rather to be a tangible display of the gospel in our city and the world.
