Bereavement Ministry

Ministry Purpose:
The purpose of the ministry is to assist the Senior Pastor in offering the services and guidance of the Church in coordination with the chosen funeral director to make the necessary funeral arrangements when requested by a bereaved family or family member.  Bereavement volunteer members seek to reach out to families of church members as well as non-church members at the discretion of the Senior Pastor when the request for help is made to the Church.

Ministry Vision:
To provide spiritual support, guidance, comfort and love to hurting family members during this difficult time and through the Spirit of Christ keeping the focus on Christ to strengthen them and bring others to the knowledge of Christ and His salvation and promise of life everlasting.

Ministry Objective:
Be available to guide families through the process of making funeral arrangements and be available for prayer with the family, sharing of God’s Word and providing spiritual focus to accept God’s will while sharing God’s plan of salvation for those who are unsaved that they too may be comforted in the knowledge and promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.  The ministry will accomplish this by working closely with the Visitation Pastor and relaying needs of the family to the Pastor and contacting other GSC Church ministries to support arrangements made for the service and to support the family during and after the service as need designates.
